Without a Vision People are Sure to Misinterpret Proverbs 29:18 (Video)

Few churches go more than a couple weeks in business meetings or general assembly without somebody quoting the first half of Proverbs 29:18 from the King James, “Without a vision the people perish.” We need a plan, you see, we need organization. And they are right, churches do need a plan and do need organization. Unfortunately that is not what this proverb means. In this lesson, we explore Proverbs 29:18, in context as part one of a two part proverb, and discover the meaning of the each of the key terms in both lines of poetry. Finally, we examine why it is so important to understand this proverb in terms of society and gospel preaching.
