The Great Miracle Worker… the Radio Spot. Take a Listen.

This is the heavily edited 6th narrative sermon in the Gospel of Mark. Here Mark uses a repeating story structure to portray Jesus as a deified man who overcomes the impossible in bigger than life miracles after the experts of the day have done all that the could and failed. He works the theme of faith and its role in bringing the desperate to Jesus for help that only He can give. Jesus calms the wind and sea, casts out a legion of demons with a word, accidentally heals a women by the shear greatness of the power proceeding from Him, and finally raises the dead. In His own home town, however, they take offense and Jesus can do no miracles there.

Jesus only ever wonders twice in the Gospels. He wonders at the great faith of the centurion and he wonders here, at the weak faith of the offended. Nothing save an unbelieving heart can cut short the power of the Great Miracle worker to do wonders in our lives.

Enjoy!
