An Unwelcomed Gift

Consequences, pain, suffering and loss are unwelcomed gifts from a loving creator to wayward creatures.

Only discomfiture of one kind or another drives change.

Only a sense of dissatisfaction with the world causes one to look up from his or her preoccupation with it, to consider what lies beyond it.

Those who strive in this world to artificially preserve others from the natural consequences of their actions often rob them of the lessons God means for them to learn from the great teacher—PAIN.

Those who preach that true faith produces a life without pain, suffering and loss rob the saints of God of their ability to accept all good gifts from their heavenly Father. They prevent others from learning contentment in all circumstances. They prevent others from cultivating faith in God rather than their own preferred faith in faith.
